New formula for Rainbow Friday
This year's Rainbow Friday organizer is the GrowSPACE Foundation, which encourages young students to build a safe space for LGBTQ+ people in school communities. Students can get involved by joining the volunteer network where they will receive support and community as well as rainbow photo frames, stickers and interactive posters. This year's action will also include a competition for the best photos from Rainbow Friday. At the moment, almost 100 places from all over the country are involved, especially smaller cities and towns.
The motto of this year's edition is "safe space", i.e. a safe space for students - especially those from the LGBTQ+ community who are in an extremely difficult situation.
“In this year's edition of Rainbow Friday, we want to strengthen the agency of young people and help them build school communities full of support. I am sure that students know best what they need to feel safe, which is why we provide them with the necessary tools, knowledge and support that will allow them to organize rainbow holidays in their schools." – says Aleksandra Stube, Coordinator of the Rainbow Friday Project from Growspace.
